I forgot to post this, as we had some things come up last week, but I got the email from the room parent discussing the Halloween party and it said they were sticking with fruit and water bottles/juice. I said I'd send in the fruit platter because, well, I figured I had no choice if I wanted D to eat it. I got a reply an hour or so later saying that they were going to have whole fruit only due to allergy concerns AND offering to reimburse me for it since fruit is expensive. I ended up finding another mom who wanted to send some in and we just split it up so the kids had apples, grapes, strawberries, bananas, and pears to choose from. I was shocked, though, that this was even on the teacher's (nurse's? principal's?) radar.
Way to go!!
That's awesome.
VERY awesome!!
Very nice!
It sounds like some are really taking this more seriously -- the seemingly increased level of awareness is encouraging!!
