Sounds like some nasty PPD (paraphenylenediamine) reactions going on.  Horrible chemical.

Wow.  Of course, it is true millions use hair color safely everyday, but those are some serious reactions when it goes wrong!

I just colored for the first time in ages(this time for gray), and am getting roots.  I am on the fence about continuing.  It has faded and grown out so fast.  I had mine done at a salon.  These stories I have read of late seem to talk about home use products.  Are they all the same?

I use Feria successfully. But yeah, roots so quickly.

The folks at salons tell you that it will last six weeks, but my hair grows as fast whether I color it at home or a salon.  And a root is a root.
