Has anyone ever tried these? I'm looking for some non-perishables that my son can pack for his trip to Ecuador in January. Thankfully he can now eat almonds so he can pack some almond butter and packages of almonds, but I was wondering about these because they'd be easy to just stick in his pocket.
Has he tried the Enjoy Life bars?
DD uses those as emergency food.
He doesn't like those. And they have little protein.
DS has had one and likes it. Becca buys them.
I thought this was a misspelling at first. Another option would be Tanka bar. It's basically pemmican/jerky. Not vegetarian.
Someone also posted about Avalanche bars in another thread.
We buy them regularly. It would be way for me to send you one to try. Let me know. They are not so high in protein, though. But they are bulky and tastey.
We also used to get Enerpro bars but they recently changed the recipe and tasted awful. We got credit for them and gave them to the food pantry. I would have sent them to you to try!
Tanabars are ok in a pinch for me --- they are expensive. But...something I would consider carrying going to a place like Ecuador.
Have you looked at the import policy to see what foodstuff can be allowed in through customs?
Thanks for the reminder, nameless. That's something I have to add to DS's list of things to do. This is his endeavor; I want him to take more responsibility, KWIM?
