Sorry, I don't have much to add beyond what has been said already, but we feed our birds (parrots, cockatiels) Roudybush pellets and fresh fruits and vegetables, with plain sunflower seeds as treats.  Roudybush daily maintenance pellets do not have peanut or nuts in the ingredients.  The one we use contains soy, but their rice formula does not.

Dealing with animals can be tricky.  People randomly feed our birds nut snacks and I often find out the hard way, with hives all over.  It's getting better, now that volunteers are not allowed in our classroom and more staff are aware of my allergy.  Even guinea pig, rabbit, dog, and ferret treats can contain nuts or peanuts.  They even make cat litter from walnuts!

Take care, be careful, and I hope your allergist will be more helpful.
ANA peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, potato, sorghum
