House of Flavors Issues Voluntary Recall Due to Possible Undeclared Dairy Allergen in Ciao Bella Dark Cocoa Sorbetto

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – December 1, 2014 – Ludington, Michigan – House of Flavors, Inc., based in Ludington, Michigan, is recalling Ciao Bella Dark Cocoa Sorbetto manufactured by House of Flavors because it's ingredients may include an undeclared dairy allergen. Consumers who may have an allergy or severe sensitivity to dairy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. For consumers who are not allergic to dairy, there is no safety issue with this product. The recall was initiated after receiving one complaint that included an allergic reaction from a consumer allergic to dairy. The company is conducting an internal audit to determine possible cause.

Only Ciao Bella Dark Cocoa Sorbetto 14oz. plastic containers stamped with UPC code 9951201206 and date code 14102 and marked "Best by Date: October 12, 2015" are affected by the recall.

No other Ciao Bella products or any other Ciao Bella Dark Cocoa Sorbetto are affected by the recall.

House of Flavors it is taking precautionary steps, including removing all potentially impacted products from retail store shelves and the entire distribution system.
