ALLERGY ALERT - UNDECLARED EGG IN LANGULY BRAND SANDWICH COOKIES

OTTAWA, November 9, 2010 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Fukuda Trading Co. Ltd. are warning people with allergies to egg proteins not to consume the Languly brand sandwich cookie products described below. The affected products contain egg which is not declared on the label.

All codes of the following products are affected by this alert:

These products have been distributed in the province of British Columbia.

There has been one reported allergic reaction associated with the consumption of these products.

Consumption of this these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to egg proteins.

The Importer, Fukuda Trading Co. Ltd., Richmond, British Columbia, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
