OTTAWA, March 11, 2011 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Sea-Ray Seafood Inc. are warning people with allergies to peanuts not to consume the lightly breaded and seasoned calamari described below. The affected product contains peanuts which are not declared on the label.

The affected product, Lightly Breaded and Seasoned Calamari, is sold in 908g packages bearing Plant 3700/02925, Production 283/10 and Lot No. 10101010040H4.

This product has been distributed in Quebec.

There has been no reported allergic reaction associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to peanuts.

The importer, Sea-Ray Seafood Inc., St. Laurent, Quebec, is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
