I don't know about the safety of Pop Tarts originally, but just saw that they have come out with two new 'Gone Nutty!' flavors: Peanut Butter and Chocolate Peanut Butter.

No personal ideas about manufacturing practices - I'm not personally PA.

There's a recent thread about Kellogg's labeling and several people got written confirmation that they do label for shared lines. I hate when there are flavors like this though. Pop Tarts have survived what seems like forever without nutty flavors. :(

Just saw this posted on their facebook. It was posted by Kelloggs after someone posted concerns about the peanut:

The Gone Nutty! Peanut Butter Pop-Tarts are produced in a separate facility from our other flavors so there will be no cross-contamination. The new varieties also have different boxes and foil packages to alert consumers of the peanut ingredients.

Jessica-where is that posted?  I'd like to post it for my local allergy group.

Glad someone knew more about this than I did.  Didn't want to alarm anyone, but thought I should share.

I would still be super careful with Pop Tarts that you don't actually see come out of the box.  I haven't actually seen the nutty ones, but with the others, it is almost impossible to tell the difference between the foil wrappers - one of the reasons we don't keep unsafe ones in our house.

I don't see a way to link to a person's post on a page, but if you go to their facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/kelloggspoptarts?fref=ts and click "see all" on 'recent posts by others' it was in there. There's another now, with the same reply, that was posted at around 1:30 pm eastern time today.
