Hello! New to the board and new to the world of food allergies. My son tested positive via blood testing for Milk Egg and Peanut. This week was our last in clinic allergy challenge and sadly were went 3 for 3 -  he is Allergic to Milk Eggs and Peanut (we were told to stay away from tree nuts as well) The milk and egg seemed a little more obvious...and or easier for me now with the addition to Peanut my head is spinning. As soon as I think I have a grasp on it - something new pops up. Im in desperate need of safe snack ideas (especially snacks on the go - poor kid eats like a rabbit at the moment and Id like to offer him crackers or other items that he sees his sister eating who is non allergic. Any help you can provide to a newbie would be greatly appreciated. We are traveling out of town for the holiday and i know this will be a very trying experience to be thrown into right away with all the cookies cakes and holiday treats available everywhere we go...HELP! :) TIA

Does he have a history of reactions to ingestion of nuts and eggs and milk? What prompted the blood test? The "RAST" IgE testing is the valid blood test but it is subject to false positives. Without a history of (relatively) acute, objective symptoms of IgE-mediated allergies the testing is only a data point.

Confirming this is not one of those other invalid tests such as IgG, ALCAT, E95, etc.

Definitely need more information as most times the blood test is prompted by a huge reaction. What happened, Lindsay? That will help us help you. Either way we'll get you an answer and next steps.

Yes Lindsay, more info please - including the ages of your kiddos, in terms of what is appropriate and realistic management.

For a start, check our Manufacturers forum.  There's lots of good information there.

I don't deal with milk and egg, but there are many members here who deal with the same allergen set as you.  Hopefully they will see this and chime in.

HI Lindsay!

A warm welcome to you.    As the others have noted-- this is one rabbit hole you do NOT want to go down without a good reason.  It has a nasty habit of shifting almost everything about your established lifestyle and decision-making.

What did your allergist have to say about the positive test results?  Any advice from him/her?
