QuoteFARE is also proud to partner with AllergyEats, the leading guide to food allergy aware restaurant reviews.

That's good!  :)  Thanks for posting that.

Any force applied to the food service industry to properly frame allergy and differentiate it from intolerance and self-selected dietary restriction is a leap forward in passive advocacy. My family won't be able to directly benefit by eating at the establishments but the indirect benefit of standardization in protocols and education to what food allergy actually is certainly helps.

I, too, look forward to the day when the mention of food allergy is not met with a standard reply based on the gluten free lifestyle.

I would have to say, though, that some mandatory restaurant allergen labeling in the USA would also be nice.

QuoteRestaurants, coffee shops, wine bars and army canteens could risk large fines if they do not state precisely which dishes contain celery, fish and eggs as part of new EU restrictions.

"Food allergy laws enforced in restaurants and takeaways"
http://www.bbc.com/news/health-30395142

QuoteRestaurants and takeaways across Europe will be required by law to tell customers if their food contains ingredients known to trigger allergies.

Staff must provide information on 14 everyday allergens including nuts, milk, celery, gluten, soya and wheat.

* Note - This only applies to Europe

QuoteThe food allergy bill that I brought forward with Representative Richard Stark would require all food servers and cooks in Florida to be educated about handling food safely for those with allergies.
