Of course this is my brand, and my size.  And I use it constantly, so replace it constantly.  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I wonder how widespread this recall will become.  >:(

Great.  I use so much paprika & I just ran out.  I won't be buying more until I see where this goes.

Ack - glad I saw this this morning because that paprika was on the counter to make a rub (and thankfully I never marinate with said rub because I would have had to figure out what to do with a butt covered in peanut).

I have not shared with DS2 who borders on paranoid despite never having had a reaction (and I do tend to downplay his hysteria) but this is getting ridiculous.
DS1 - Wheat, rye, barley and egg
DS2 - peanuts
DD -  tree nuts, soy and sunflower
Me - bananas, eggplant, many drugs

Yeah, we need some transparency instead of, "LOOK OUT.  possibly.  IT CONTAINS PEANUTS.  maybe.  Positive test results show may contain.  Definitely, sort of."

I just wrote to my state's senator. If it's this easy to sneak peanut into spices, and if takes months and months to find where it went in the supply chain, what if it was something that was lethal to EVERYONE? Who says this was a supplier trying to save a buck and not someone with malicious intent testing reaction time for future contaminations?

May be paranoid, maybe I watch too many crime shows, or maybe not.

hedgehog

Crime shows?  How about the news?  There are many groups out there that would love to harm or kill as many Americans as possible.

Yeah, that too.

FYI - I noticed while out for lunch that Heinz mustard has paprika listed as an ingredient. I don't eat mustard so I'm not calling, but if this becomes a 'thing' like the cumin, something to watch for.

Any adulteration isn't good, which I think is what starlight meant.  It requires motivation and opportunity, and if both exist due to lack of oversight the system requires overhaul sufficient to combat the problem.

I was about to use a can of red gold tomatoes w/ green chiles (like rotel) then remembered and saw the word "spices" on the label. I ended up using plain diced tomatoes and a can of plain green chiles but dang. This sucks.

Their Goofy "Gawrsh!" moment elapsed once the cumin episode concluded.  I'm not an advocate of ever increasing regulation because I like to see existing legislation better enforced first, but this is happening on the watch of some powerful agencies.  That does not bode well.

Miracle Whip (Kraft) has paprika as an ingredient.

Wonder if they've put out any info or comment?
