Hi Everyone!

My 2 year old son has a Peanut and Tree Nut allergy.
I was wondering if the Pillsbury and Betty Crocker cake mixes/frostings/brownies are safe or not?
Does anyone have any experience with these companies?

I did call Betty Crocker and they told me that they wash the lines down and that if the product contains an allergen, they will list it on the packaging and that if there's a possibility of cross contamination, they woud list that too.
However, since the lines are washed down, isn't there a slight chance of cross contamination?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Nobody can guarantee there is a chance of cross contamination.

We do not use Pillsbury due to a long ago issue - perhaps 9 years, when peanut flour was used in some of their products.  That probably has changed over time but I haven't needed to use them so I have never called back.

We do use Betty Crocker and have for many years.  I only use cake mixes and brownie mixes - reading labels everytime.  I make my own frostings.

Check labels, but if there is no warning, I eat it.

I use Betty Crocker all the time. Once in awhile Pillsbury but not often. I'm not sure why but it makes me nervous.

Around here (pn/tna, egg allergy, higher threshold soy and milk), we trust the spoon.  The doughboy, not so much (but that's mostly habit).

We've used brownie mixes, cake mixes, and canned frostings.
Resistance isn't futile.  It's voltage divided by current.

Betty Crocker and pilsbury refrigerated products  (as well as several other brands) are owned by General Mills.  Most people here trust their labeling for the top 8 allergens.  Pilsbury dry mixes and flours are owned by Smuckers.  Which also owns Jif, and other brands as well.  Some here trust them, others do not.  I have trusted them and never had any problems.
